How a run works

Four steps, every time, whether it is a 2 a.m. STAT or a Tuesday route

  1. 1

You call, or the route fires

Dispatch takes the pickup, the drop, what it is, and when it has to land. Scheduled routes start on their own. Either way you get a driver name and an ETA.

  2. 2

    Pickup, scan, signature

The driver checks packaging, scans the container or manifest, and gets a signature from your staff. Temperature is read and logged if the item needs it.

  3. 3

    Transit, watched

STAT is point to point, no other stops. Routes run a fixed sequence. Dispatch watches the Turnpike, Route 1, and I-295 and calls you if a window is at risk.

  4. 4

    Handoff to a named person

Receiver signs on the device. Time, place, names, and temperature go on the record. Proof of delivery emails within minutes and stays in your account history.

Questions

What people ask before the first run

How fast can you pick up a STAT specimen in Central Jersey?

From our Iselin base, most STAT pickups in Middlesex and Union counties are on the road within 30 to 60 minutes of the call. Farther out in Somerset, Mercer, or Monmouth, plan on 60 to 90. Dispatch gives you a real ETA when you call, not a range we hope for.

Do you run scheduled routes as well as on-demand?

Yes. Most of our volume is scheduled: fixed daily or weekly lab runs, pharmacy routes, and inter-facility shuttles with set pickup windows. STAT and on-demand fill the gaps.

What does chain of custody look like on your side?

Each item is scanned at pickup, the sender signs, and the receiver signs at handoff. Time, GPS location, and names are recorded. You get a proof-of-delivery record by email, and we keep the log for audits.

Is dispatch really available at 3 a.m.?

Yes. A dispatcher answers the phone around the clock, every day of the year. Overnight STAT work is common for hospital labs and long-term care pharmacies, so we staff for it.
