Long-term care runs follow a fixed stop order agreed with each facility's med-pass schedule. Patient deliveries are sequenced for the promised window.
Nurse or patient signs on the device. Refrigerated items are handed over with a temperature reading. No doorstep drops for Rx unless the pharmacy authorizes it in writing.
Refused, not-home, or discrepancy items return to the pharmacy the same run. You get a list before the driver gets back.
Evening cycle runs to skilled nursing, assisted living, and group homes, usually leaving the pharmacy between 6 and 9 p.m. and finishing by midnight. Overnight STAT for first doses and changes, with a two-hour target inside the route footprint. We know the back door, the med room, and the charge nurse's name at every facility we serve.
High-value refrigerated biologics move one at a time in validated coolers with data loggers when the manufacturer requires it. Deliveries are to a named person, with photo ID check on request. Missed-delivery protocol is agreed up front so nothing sits on a porch.
Same-day or next-day delivery to homes in the pharmacy's area. Drivers carry a script for the door: identify themselves, confirm the patient name, capture a signature, and hand over a receipt. Controlled substances require an adult signature and ID.
Schedule II through V items travel in a locked bag inside the vehicle, with a paper custody form signed at release and receipt. Drivers never leave the vehicle unattended with controlled items inside. Counts are reconciled at the end of every run.
Only if the pharmacy has authorized a doorstep drop for that patient in writing. Otherwise the driver attempts contact, leaves a card, and returns the item to the pharmacy the same run.
Yes. Validated 2 to 8 °C coolers, temperature logged at pickup and delivery, and optional continuous data loggers. Dry ice for frozen items.
Locked bag, paper custody form, adult signature with ID at delivery, and end-of-run count reconciliation. Drivers are background checked with a clean MVR.
